QuestionI have chronic back pain, usually a dull pain in my lower right side of my back. Sometimes I have muscle spasms that are really sharp pains. When I sit too long, my lower back gets so stiff I can barely stand up straight and it takes me a few minutes for the muscles to relax enough for me to straighten out. How should I get this diagnosed to find the cause? What chiropractic techniques are used to treat this?
AnswerMy recommendation would be to find a good osteopathic physician and get your problem diagnosed. Then, if needed, locate a physical therapist who has a specialization in spinal rehabilitation techniques.
Chiropractic is risky because they often misdiagnose and suggest the people get manipulated when they don't really need it.
