QuestionMy husband and I went for a free consult for back and neck pain. I haven't been in any accidents, but I do "multitask" while on the phone.....alot plus I spend alot of time in bad traffic so I've been getting bad neck pain and migranes. My husband has been in an accident and has lower back pain and shoulder pain. We've heard the chiropractor could help. But we're unsure of the plan the doctor has recommended for us and the price, since we have no experience in this area and don't know if either plan or price are reasonable. The plan calls for 3 months of "intensive treatment" (being adjusted 3 times a week) then continued care (but not at 3 times a week) for a year. The cost was originally proposed at $4500 per person, but he offered a "wellness plan" which caps the rate at 2750 for one and one half of that for the other, totalling $4125. for both, with the expectation that roughly $2000.00 would be reimbursed through insurance. A year seems a long time, but he said it was necessary since we've endured subluxacation for such a long period of time. Also, the price....we just want to make sure we're making the right decision. Can you adivse me?
Answeralthough my care plan would be a little less involved, the final plan and the cost seem within reason. however, the first consideration should not be cost, but what are you buying. there are great differences in what is offered under the name of chiropractic care. i recommend you choose an experienced HIO METHOD chiropractor to be as certain as possible you will get precision correction. unfortunately it is not uncommon to complete some course of non-corrective but only therapeutic treatment which doesn't correct the cause of your problem, and will leave you essentially the same as you started, minus your expense, of course.
