How many visits?

Question
I began having extreme pain down my front right thigh area and then terrible hip pain on right side.  Then my left thigh began hurting, major nerve pain, and then my left hip.  My lower back hurts a little.  This all began at the end of April.  I have been seeing a highly recommended Chiropractor aprox. 2-3 times per week since May 1st.  I have gotten better, but I still experience sporatic nerve pain in my thigh area on both legs and I continue to ice my back.  Apparently my L-5 disc is inflamed causing the nerve pain.  How long and how often would you recommend a patient come in for care to fix the problem.  I am going broke and I am still not confident that I am 100% well.  I am worried that this could be a herniated disk and that I should be getting an MRI and seeing an Orthopedic?  About 4 1/2 years ago I have a ruptured disk in my neck, C6 & C7 and have spinal fusion surgery.

Thanks
Marlene

Answer
i would have you visit two times a week for three to four weeks, then begin to reduce the frequency of visits gradually to once a month within approximately a four month period. you are not ever going to be one hundred percent well, though with the proper care you might achieve a high degree of symptom relief as long as you maintain your correction. you have a serious problem which will take time and patience for improvement even in the best circumstances, those being you are getting actual correction of the cause, not just therapy, and you avoid doing things which will tend to make the cause return repeatedly, that is, straining your NECK. also you do not want to aggravate the disc inflammation problem by applying force to the low back. you cannot undo a surgery or the undesired results that may come of it, nor will it correct the root cause anyway. i would consider it as a last resort if at all.if i were you i would find an HIO METHOD chiropractor, follow their instructions, and be patient.
