QuestionHello! Here's my story....over the last month, when I least expect it, one side of my lower back will almost lock up in pain. I can't move or straighten up for a few minutes. While I realize I probably should have taken better care of my back, I am guilty of lifting and pulling more than I should have. My next door neighbor is a paramedic and she thinks it is the muscle freezing up. But she is not a chiropractor and I would very much appreciate your opinion, please. Also, I've had a low grade temperature if that could be a contributing factor. Thank you so very much for a reply! Carolanne
AnswerHello Carolanne,
With a temperature it may be a bladder or kidney infection, these can cause low back pain. Then you may want to have a urinalysis done to make sure.
Also you neighbor could be right if you can remember a specific incidence when you injured your low back, from lifting etc. Then you may want to see a doctor of chiropractic for a examination of the low back to determine if it is a muscle, tendon, ligament, disc, or joint related pain.
Hope this information is helpful!
