QuestionMy 13yr old daughter has been suffering from both hip and back pain since February. It all started after a fall on the ice, (skating) and she injuried her tail bone. We have been going to Children's Hospital in Boston for months of Bone Scans, MRIs and an Arthogram. She has been seen by two Doctors specializing in sports related injury to the back and hip area. They both found nothing wrong and now she is in a back brace that doesn't seem to help. We also just completed six weeks of Accupucture with negative results. A friend reccommended Dr. David Leaf, a Chiropractor from Plymouth, Massachusetts. My wife and I just don't know if it's safe for my daughter and if we will have to continue this type of treatment for years? Any advice? THANK YOU.
AnswerHIO METHOD chiropractic, done with a light toggle adjustment is certainly safe. i have adjusted children as young as four months, and obtained excellent results. chiropractic is not treatment, it is correction. once corrected, periodic checks should be done to ensure the correction is still in place. if it is, then nothing further needs to be done on that visit. she doesn't need to be tweaked regularly every whatever like tuning your car. ( by the way, the cause of her problem is in the UPPER NECK.)
