QuestionI have a cervical herniation to disk 6-7 and bone spurs. I have been seeing a Chiropractor for 3 weeks and my pain has subsided by about 75%. He uses the Gonstead technique. After seeing a neurosurgeon to confirm my MRI results he advised against seeing the Chiropractor saying that he could do harm to my condition. I have some nerve problems in my left arm with tingling in my hand. The pain in my arm was stabbing in places, however the pain is less severe and only mild now but I still have the weakness in the arm and tingling in the hand. Should I continue seeing the Chiropractor? The neurosurgeon has prescribed a steroid to take for six days (prednisone). Any advise? Thanks.
Answerthe choice is yours, naturally. you might read up on the side-effects of steroids. is the medic's advice given in what they believe is your best interest, or perhaps so the chiropractic results you claim won't make them appear a failure, or not to lose income from losing a patient? what do you suppose the surgeon will try next when the drugs fail? you have to decide who and what to believe.
