QuestionI have been seeing a chirporator for about a month now. I have heard varying opinions regarding the effectiveness of this type of treatment. However, one comment I heard disturbed me. Someone said that once you start seeing a chiropractor, your back, shoulders and neck are more seseptible to injury, along with the muscles which can be injured easier becasue of chirpractic treatment. Is this true?
AnswerKrystal,
Thank you for your question. I do not know who gave you that information, but I would like you to ask them where they obtained it. I say this because it is absolutely false. On the contrary, chiropractic patients who receive regular chiropractic treatment report far less injuries and problems with muscles. Chiropractic treatment is a leading treatment in the resolution of such injuries. If chiropractic treatment helps heal such injuries, how can it make a person more susceptible to them.
Often times people make comments with no basis or logic behind them. I would say that your informant make these comments in this manner. There is no published study or information whatsoever indicating that chiropractic treatment leads to a higher risk of future injuries. Some folks feel that they are an authority just because they speak.
I commend you for searching for real answers.
God Bless,
Dr. Boss
