QuestionI am in the process of applying to Chiropractic school and I have been having a tough time determining the differences between the schools. After reading several postings on this site I now understand the difference between the straight and mixer approaches...but I have been unable to find much literature associating straight, mixer or somewhere in between with the different schools. Is there any information you can give me that might help me with choosing schools? Thanks so much!
AnswerRachael,
Thanks for the question. This is kind of difficult as I want you to do as much research as possible to make your own decision. Your decision should suit you. But I am happy to try to provide some information.
I did go to Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. It is on the southeast side of Houston. I did enjoy my time there and felt that I received a quality education. I believe that what you learn will be up to you. If you work hard and put in the effort, you will become an excellent chiropractor.
As I went to TCC, I cannot really provide you any information on the other schools. I know other DCs from other colleges and I have found very competent DCs and others that I just don't know about. That holds true for everything though.
I recommend going online and getting information that way. You should also contact the ones you are interested in and obtain as much written information as possible. Then after studying the info, call the schools and ask to speak to some of the deans. Put together a list of questions and ask. Load yourself with all the info you can and then you can weight the pros and cons and make your decision. I went to TCC because I am a Texan, born and bred and when I die, I will be a Texan dead! A little corny, but you get the point.
I like visiting outside of Texas, but I just don't feel real comfortable unless I am in my own country. But I did have dozens of classmates from all over and as far away as Canada.
Do your homework to make your decision. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them.
God Bless,
Dr. Boss
