QuestionI find that after after walking 18 holes of golf pushing my golfcart and about 15 minutes of rest my lower back/hips are killing me and I walk like a 90 year old man. Tho after walking a bit the pain lessens. The pain persists for a day or so. Can seeing a chiropractor help with this?
AnswerJoe,
Thanks for the question. YES, DEFINITELY! Chiropractic and golf go hand in hand. All of the tour players regularly see chiropractors. I was watching the Golf Channel the other day and they had a segment regarding golf and chiropractic. John Daly was having his treatment.
Golf involves so much spinal and hip and pelvic motion that it can cause fixation of the spine and irritation of the joints, supporting tissues, and even spinal nerves.
I recommend seeing a chiropractor and have a few visits to get you in shape. Then, you may just need to be seen once every month or so. Especially when you are playing a lot.
I know, I used to play golf to about a 2 handicap. I even played at a small college my freshman year. Unfortunately, I have given golf up for coaching baseball with my 14 year old son. He is the real athlete in the family, but I will pick it back up once he has left for college.
Good luck with your back and your game. Hit em straight and far!
