Question
Hello,

I was thrown from a horse a year ago and, from what I remember, landed on my lower back (after bouncing once or twice).  For 3 weeks I had almost immobilizing shooting pains in my pelvis and slightly down the back of my left leg that very slowly went away.  A chiropractor/energy work practitioner helped the healing process a lot; however, I still have some residual weakness in my hip joint areas.  If I squat down for any length of time, then get up to walk, my leg almost gives way - though there's no pain.  Can you tell me if, in your opinion, more chiropractic would help and what nerves and areas are being affected?
Thank you.

Answer
Melissa,

Thanks for the question.  I think that some additional chiropractic could help and certainly would not hurt.  It sounds as if there is weakness in the region, which may be nerve related, but is most likely just muscle related as there is no pain involved.  It may just be as simple as beginning a strengthening program for the specific muscles involved.

I would recommend seeing a chiropractor and getting their opinion.

Thanks and I hope this helps.
