QuestionPlease keep in mind with my last question that it pertains first and foremost to weightlifting...wieghted situps, deadlifts, pushpresses, snatches, pull ups and clean and presses
AnswerJeff,
I wanted to add advice on the exercises you listed other than wieghted situps. The most common advice given with a squat is to look up as you squat in order to maintain the cervical and lumbar curves. This is good advice! Never trade form for weight this is where injuries seem to get us. During your explosive power moves, as in dead lifts and snatches, it will be hard to focus on the weight and posture and the task all at the same time. These are the few exercises that I recommend a weight belt to help. Wearing a belt tends to make us rely on that support and can lead to more severe injuries down the road.
I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions.
