QuestionMy girlfriend and I sleep together every night, I sleep like a rock, and she unfortunatly does not. I was recently thinking that because I exercise my back more and it's possibly stronger that it might be part of why i'm not be experencing the same discomfort. Consequently we decided that a new mattress might be a good idea.. one of those new foam mattress might do the trick (not to mention any brand names).. but as I understand it, as we sleep our spines decompress.. and if this mattress so completly envelopes you as you sleep as the product suggests.. I thought that it might hinder that natural process.. So I guess my question(s) are.. do you think there is any validity to that? or am I over thinking this?
Thanks for reading this,
any reply is a bonus.
Take care..

AnswerKeith,
I can not find any information suggesting that there should be any concern with the foam mattress. I completely understand your reasoning with the rehydration of the discs during sleep. The main reason this occurs is because we are not subjected to axial pressures that we are during the waking hours. As we sleep the forces are different. I am slightly familiar with this material and I don't think it would be an issue as long as it is a material the both of you are comfortable using.
