Hamstring tendons

Question
I have an issue with the medial hamstring tendons whereby if I flex
and extend my right knee there is what feels like a clicking, as
though they are rubbing against one another.  I can massage the
area in question and palpate what feels like two tendons rubbing
against one another.  This has always been the case, but as a
dancer of some years it has become more pronounced, and there
can be acute though minor pain associated with it, especially after
a lengthy rehearsal.  Is this nothing more than tendons rubbing
together, and what can I do to treat this condition?

Answer
Hello Don,

Adhesions in or between muscles and tendons can result in myofascitis (basically adhesions from the tissue rubbing together).  You may want to see a doctor of chiropractic who specializes in sport/soft tissue injuries.  Treatment may resolve this condition and restore proper biomechanal function of the hamstrings.

Have a great day,
Dr. Brendon O'Brien D.C.
