QuestionQUESTION: Hello. I have had previous back problems, but they have always resolved in a couple weeks... I now have this tremendous leg pain that has stuck around for over a month - ESPECIALLY in my upper right calf... I have tingling/numb/cold sensations in my foot and calf and weakness when flexing my right big toe. Now, I "self-diagnosed" myself as having a pinched L5 nerve root. I know I need to do something about it because I can barely walk around without tremendous pain. I do not have insurance (I am a poor vet student), but I really need advice about what kind of medical help to seek out and what would be the most effective at stopping the pain. Thanks!
ANSWER: You need to see a chiropractor. If you send me your town and your closest city to which you live, I will respond to you with a good doctor to see. You can pay cash at most chiropractors offices and they usually will make their care affordable to students. This will get the bone off the nerve and allow the body to heal up.

QUESTION: Well... the closest BIG city to me now is Spokane. If I can visit home for a couple of days, marysville, sedro-wolley and/or bellingham would be viable options.
