QuestionDr. O'Brien, I have a herniated disc on the L5 and I am fixting to start mountain biking again.Havent riden since injury and I am curious what I might expect. Any suggestions?
AnswerHello Curt,
Depends if you are fully healed. If the low back is still sore you may want to start off very slow. Short 1/2 hour ride to see how you feel the next day, ice and no heat after you ride. If you have not already, start looking at those full-suspension mountain bikes---they will save your back!!
Watch out for those roots!
