Question
Dr aronoe- I have been experiencing upper neck pain and shoulder pain for since April. I received PT care for 3weeks without any releif-also Chiropratic care since April. He give me temp relief for a few days. My pain is sometime burning, sharp, very annoying, and I get facial tingling all the time. I was finnally referred to a Neuro-who did 2 MRI's, X-ray, -all normal.. The pain sometime starts at he base of my head (occipital) and travels down my spine.  I have had 2 treatments of a occipital nerve blocks which did some relief, but again only temp. I've taken muscle relaxers, motrin, again some releif cant take during the day. I starting taking lipitor about six months ago , but heard that could cause muscle pain so I stop for now to see if it was related-it was not-My neurologist wants to do a botox injection to the muscle. What is your opinion on this as Im not 100% convinced this will work.

All of these things that you are considering doing and have been doing have one thing in common:  They all are trying to treat symptoms.  When you try to treat symptoms you NEVER get well, you sometimes alleviate the symptoms, and you always cause trouble.  If you are looking to truly get well, then you will seek out the care of an upper cervical chiropractor.  There is a big difference between an UC Chiro and a General Chiro, so even if you have been to a Chiro before without great results, you can still get well under Upper Cervical Care.  If you need help in locating one near you, just send me your email address, town, city, and state, along with the nearest big city to you.  I will then reply to you with a name or two.
