QuestionI had an auto accident 2 weeks ago. no bodily harm was done. I was wearing a seat belt but I did have pain in the left shoulder and upper arm that the seatbelt crossed over. I was adjusted by a chiropractor that night and the pain went away after a couple of days. This past Sunday I started having pain on my left side in my rib area of my back. I don't know if this is because of the accident or not. The pain is made worse by daily activity- picking up my 10 month old son, bending over a lot, ect. The start of the day will be fine but by the end of the day I am in a lot of pain. Do you think I have a rib out of place? Thanks for your time.
AnswerAs I advise my patients involved with auto accident, there could possibly be more hidden injuries to be found in the future. To answer your question, I believe the symptoms you are experiencing could be related to the motor vehicle accident. In addition, repetitive motion/stress can further aggravate the damage.
My recommendation is to continue to seek chiropractic care on a regular basis. Spinal adjustment is not an instant cure.
