QuestionHello, I woke up one morning with a very sore lower back? I went to the doctor who sent me to phyiso and gave me some anti inflam tablets. Thr phyiso said it was something pressing on my sciatic nerve but after 6 months gave up & was stumped.
I have a few symptoms..I get a weak right leg sometimes & also pins & needles and numbness..sometimes both legs but this seems to have settled down. I also get a aching pain in the area around the back of my hips, mainly right side also. The one thing I am concerned about is that on my right side at the very bottom of my ribs it clicks a lot? some days are worse than others and how I sit does also effect..this happens from time to time and when I take deep breaths or if I touch the area? it clicks when I push lightly on it then clicks when I take my hand away?
I did tell the doctor about this clicking but he said not to worry as its probally just cartilige..
I have had this problem for a year now & its really starting to concern me.
AnswerIf you haven't tried a chiropractor, I would do so. Physiotherapy does a great job of exercising a body part, but has little correction if there is a misalignment. It sounds as if this is your problem. Misalignment somewhere in the Lumbar spine or pelvis is causing pressure on the sciatic nerve. That pressure has to be removed and the proper function restored before exercising to strengthen the area. The clicking, too, may be a misalignment issue that can be corrected.
