QuestionI went to a chiropractor a week a go and I think he broke one of my ribs. Is this commen an how do I handle this.Should I contac a lawyer or just forget it??
AnswerCyndi,
Although it is possible for rib fractures to occur following manipulation, generally speaking, this is not a common occurrence. Sprains or cartilage injuries following manipulation are more common than fractures, although both injuries are obviously complications that the clinician would wish to avoid.
It is always advisable to discuss problems following manipulation with your chiropractor. If you are in extreme pain, you should go to the emergency room or consult with your primary care physician for further evaluation.
As I am not a lawyer, I cannot provide you with legal advice.
I hope that this answers your question.
