Question
I had an adjustment/neck manipulation done last Thursday 6/05, and ever since then I've had terrible pain (feels like a bruise) and swollen lymph node from under my left ear down four inches ever since my adjustment, and visibly swollen.  I called them today, but cannot be seen until tomorrow.  This was the 2nd time I've ever been to a chiropracter.  Do you think she could have torn something.  Just want to make sure I haven't developed a clot.  Thanks for any input

Hi Jennifer,

It is impossible to give you very precise information over the net.  It is possible to get injured during adjustment.  

If it has been a while since your previous visit, there may be a lot of restriction that needed to break up.  The next visit will usually clear this right up.

Also, the adjustment might have coincided with some allergy, sore throat, etc. for the lymph to swell.

It is extremely rare for any serious injury to occur from a regular chiropractic adjustment.
