Question
I am currently studying in my last year of medical science and have decided to complete another degree, one of which is chiro. In order to broaden my outlook within this field, I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind answering some questions I have?

1. What are the major tasks/responsibilities of your job?
2. How did you get this job?
3. what are the skills/attributes required?
4. what are the positive/negative aspects or challenges of your job?
5. Is there an increasing demand for chiropractors?

If there is anyone else you could possibly refer me to within the industry it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time

Jan Townsend

Answer
Congratulations on choosing the field of chiropractic.  since your question is broken into parts, it will answer the same way.
1.  Starting with a thorough examination of the patient, you will then formulate a treatment plan and proceed with it.  Education is key through all aspects of patient care (education on chiropractic, health, etc.)_
2.  After graduation, I opened an office.  3 years later I moved to a different city and opened an office again.  Currently, I have a practice in a medical center, not far from my last office.
3.  A background in biology, chemistry and anatomy is essential.  People skills are a must.
4.  Changing peoples lives through better health is probably the most positive aspect you will find.  Negative aspects:  insurances, patients that suck the life out of you.
5.  There is a steady demand, and probably a glut in many areas.
Hope that this helps.
