Toe injury

Question
A fire extinguisher fell on my left big toe and started to feel cramps, numbness, pain and twitching ever since in the left leg. I just had an ultrasound which found a fluid buildup between the toes. Cortisone and steroid shots were suggested. Do you think that may be the answer?

Answer
Feona,
Those types of shots have side effects and some of which are weaker ligaments as a result which could lead to a future injury.  What you need to do is go to a doctor that will look for the cause and look to correct that cause.
If you had an injury and your body needs to send more cells to the site to aid in healing so be it.  If your body is acting abnormally in response to this injury then that needs to be addressed as to the reasons why and then correcting that cause.
Either way, I don't see how injecting poisons in to your blood stream can benefit you.
