QuestionQUESTION: I think I maybe pulled a tricep muscle by overuse of one crutch with my right arm. My symptoms started out as very intense pain, tingling at fingertips, and was not able to move my arm at all. The symptoms have gotten better after about 4 days, a little pain and tingling, but I am able to move my arm now. When using my crutch (to keep weight off my left foot), I put all my weight on my right side foot and arm. Do you think putting all the weight on my right foot and arm would have caused this?
ANSWER: Staten Island Crutch Palsy, Staten Island Pinched Nerve
Hello Cindy,
I am sorry to hear of your pain/ symptoms/ complaints.
From your description, I would guess you have a 'pinched nerve' at your axilla (armpit), from the crutch.
Dealing with athletes in my office has shown me an occasional Staten Island Crutch Palsy patient. This 'pinched nerve' should resolve if you use the crutch properly, and when you are off the crutch.

You do want to use the crutch properly- return to the doctor or provider that gave you the crutch for proper instruction.
You do want to make sure this is a temporary crutch palsy- return to the doctor or provider that gave you the crutch and discuss this condition.

QUESTION: You mentioned "temporary palsy." It's been about a week now and I'm still having a little pain discomfort/tingling, but it's getting better. How long do you think I should wait before seeing my doctor??
ANSWER: Staten Island Pinched Nerve
Hello Cindy,
Thank you for your return question. I am glad to hear that things seem to be progressing in the correct direction (improvement).
With your foot problem, you must be scheduled to re-visit the treating doctor, no? IF your hand/ arm are getting better (strength returning, motion returning, less pain/ numbness) then seeing a doctor immediately or urgently is probably not necessary. You seem to know the cause- leaning on the crutch too long, or improperly, you seem to be getting better; I think you can wait to see your treating doctor. IF things remain the same, or get worse,,, obviously I would schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
You do have followup visit(s) scheduled- right? Just to monitor your initial problem.
I have an information handout I utilize in my office for my Staten Island Pinched Nerve patients. My handout is about 'pinched nerves' AT the spine- a little different from your 'pinched nerve' at the axilla (armpit), but this could be of help to you:
揚inched Nerve?
( Also Known As- neuritis, neuralgia, brachial-neuritis, sciatica )
損inched nerve??is only ?a diagnosis, WHAT is causing the 憄inch? Your Doctor of Chiropractic will examine and evaluate you to make sure you are not showing signs of neurological damage or disease, tumors, cancers, severe pathology, perhaps a Herniated Disc, or a Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
Sometimes we can wake up with a 憄inched nerve? or a muscle spasm.... sometimes a slip, trip, fall, heavy lift, or even a motor vehicle accident can cause a 憄inched nerve? Very often - the true c a u s e of the pinched nerve, painor numbness in the: neck and/ or shoulder and/ or arm and/ or hand; pain in the back and/ or buttock/ hip/ leg/ knee/ foot - is a misalignment, a 慿ink?in the neck or back - more properly termed a Vertebral Subluxation.
Vertebral Subluxation Complex (a.k.a. 憇ubluxation?
The vertebral subluxation complex is the underlying cause of many healthcare problems.
A subluxation interferes with the proper functioning of the nervous system (the master system which controls and coordinates all function within the body) and may cause various other conditions, symptoms and problems.
This is a serious condition identified by its five parts:
Spinal Kinesiopathology:
This is fancy way of saying the bones of the spine have lost their normal motion and position. It restricts your ability to turn and bend. It sets in motion the other four components.
Neuropathophysiology:
Improper spinal function can choke, stretch, or irritate delicate nerve tissue. The resulting nerve system dysfunction can cause symptoms elsewhere in the body.
Myopathology:
Muscles supporting the spine can weaken, atrophy, or become tight and go into spasm. The resulting scar tissue changes muscle tone, requiring repeated spinal adjustments.
Histopathology:
A rise in temperature from an increase in blood and lymph supplies result in swelling and inflammation. Discs can bulge, herniate, tear, or degenerate. Other soft tissues may suffer permanent damage.
Pathophysiology:
The VSC contributes to OsteoArthritic degeneration. Bone spurs and other abnormal bony growths attempt to fuse malfunctioning spinal joints. This spinal decay, scar tissue, and long-term nerve dysfunction can cause other systems of the body to malfunction.
The Vertebral Subluxation Complex describes what happens when spinal bones lose their normal movement patterns and position.
Automobile accidents, improper lifting, improper posture, alcohol, emotional stress, chemical imbalances, and long periods of sitting can cause the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
Vertebral Subluxation cannot be corrected through chemicals (medicine), stretching, yoga, vitamins or physical therapy alone. Subluxation- a neuro/skeletal/muscular- mechanical- problem requires a mechanical correction- - - a manipulation, best performed with the chiropractic adjustment. For good health-

揚inched Nerve? ( Also Known As- neuritis, neuralgia, brachial-neuritis, sciatica )
損inched nerve??is only ?a diagnosis, WHAT is causing the 憄inch? ?That 損inch?has to be taken care of FIRST!
As the 損inch??the MECHANICAL component of the problem, the CAUSE of the problem is being taken care of through Chiropractic treatment, perhaps additional help would speed your return to health:
Nerve Health Support:
-----B complex containing thiamine, folic acid, B-12 and niacin is highly suggested for nerve support. High dose
B-vitamins should only be taken at the advice of a licensed healthcare professional.
-----B-6 is lower in patients with neuropathy. Vitamin B-6 reduces the glycosylation that can cause nerve damage. Amounts greater than 200mg/day can cause neuropathy symptoms.
-----Calcium and magnesium are important for nerve conduction and as muscle relaxants.
-----A multi-vitamin/mineral supplement is suggested for comprehensive support.
-----Essential fatty acids are necessary for nerve health. Essential fatty acids include omega-3 fatty acids (fish and flax oil) and omega-6 fatty acids (black currant seed oil, borage oil and evening primrose oil).
-----Proteolytic enzymes may be beneficial in neuritis for the inflammation.
-----Lecithin aids in nerve support.
-----Natural herbal remedies including passion flower, valerian, chamomile, scullcap and white willow bark may be helpful.
-----Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that stimulate the nervous system such as caffeine, chocolate, refined sugars, soda pop and cigarettes.
-----Drink plenty of filtered water.
-----Chiropractic care is imperative to remove nerve irritation.
Joint Support:
-----Glucosamine sulfate helps strengthen joint integrity. Glucosamine is effective in relieving joint pain associated with osteoarthritis. Glucosamine's pain-relieving effects may be due to its cartilage-rebuilding properties. These disease-modifying effects are not seen with simple analgesics and are of particular benefit.
-----MSM is known for its pain-relieving properties in such conditions as fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, back pain and muscle soreness. Not many clinical trials have been done using MSM, but clinical observations support the theory that MSM is beneficial in pain managment.
-----White willow is an antiinflammatory and analgesic agent. White willow was used as far back as the Middle Ages to reduce pain and fevers. The salicylates found in the white willow bark are responsible for the anti-inflammatory and anti-fever effects. Acetylsalicylic acid, otherwise known as aspirin, is chemically similar to the salicylates.
-----Boswellia and turmeric (curcumin) are potent antiinflammatory herbs. Curcumin may have similar action to aspirin.
Now, most of the above information relates to the pinched nerve AT the spine, BUT much of this information is the same for your pinched nerve at the axilla.
I hope this helps.

QUESTION: I will be seeing my doctor for follow-up regarding my right ankle fracture next week (the reason for the crutches). You mentioned Vertebral Subluxation Complex can be caused by prolonged sitting. This concerns me because since March I've been sitting a lot, no exercise at all, because of my ankle fracture. I think I sit 90% of the time; as the doctor wants me to stay off the ankle. Should I be concerned about this Subluxation Complex?? Thank you so much for all your input.
AnswerStaten Island Vertebral Subluxation Complex, Chiropractic Staten Island Expert
Hello Cindy,
Thank you for your followup question. You are a curious patient with an inquiring mind!
Now you have done it.
You have opened a can of worms.
Oh Boy.
You know, these question/ answer articles are on the internet and open for anyone to view; from lay people to medical doctors to chiropractic doctors to healthy folks to sick folks.
This is the question that opens controversy between the Chiropractic Doctor and the Medical Doctor.
First, directly to your question(s):
"... I will be seeing my doctor for follow-up regarding my right ankle fracture next week (the reason for the crutches). ..."- as long as you are progressing in the correct direction- symptoms decreasing, function increasing; I think you can wat to see your doctor for the followup visit. If things get worse, see someone more quickly. I am content that your 'pinched nerve' will be temporary, given your description.
"....You mentioned Vertebral Subluxation Complex can be caused by prolonged sitting....."- Vertebral Subluxation (VSC) is THE chiropractic 'LESION'. Lesion- this is the problem that doctors look for. For a Dentist, his(her) lesion is a Cavity. For a Medical Doctor, his(her) lesion is a germ- they culture wounds, infections, sputum, etc. For a Surgeon, the lesion is some structural change- ie cells turning to cancer, a torn tendon, herniated disc.
The Doctor of Chiropractic places special emphasis upon the spine and spinal joints, this anatomy- in turn- affects the surrounding muscles and nerves which then can have effects distant from the spine. The VSC is the 'chiropractic lesion' that the Doctor of Chiropractic particularly looks for.
".....You mentioned Vertebral Subluxation Complex can be caused by prolonged sitting....."- any prolonged posture, any repetitive motion, any movement or posture habit that we have can build an imbalance into our musculoskeletal system; this in turn can affect our neurological balance, our neurological system. Can prolonged sitting cause a VSC?, yes. Any posture or movement COULD cause a VSC. I have some informational handouts (as you have seen) that may bring further light to the subject-- you will see them later on.
"....Should I be concerned about this Subluxation Complex??...."- from my perspective as a Doctor of Chiropractic, YES. From many lay people's perspectives,,,,,,, hmmmmmmm, no. For many people--- if it ain't hurtin' - don't worry about it. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, I check and adjust my family, staff, friends weekly for the VSC.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic, knowing the far-reaching, far-ranging deleterious consequences of the VSC- I get checked and adjusted AT LEAST twice per month. My education and experience has shown me that when I am in proper adjustment, I function better. I want to live longer, be healthier, function better---- this to Medical Doctors is a controversial statement. To me, I accept this statement, I learned this theory in Chiropractic School, and have observed it in practice. People that get checked and adjusted when necessary have less colds, less health complaints, less problems.
To me, going to MY chiropractic doctor is like taking vitamins.
These actions ^^above^^ may be controversial to some,,, so me-- I want to be healthier, live longer, function better; I believe these actions help me towards that goal. Vitamins and Chiropractic are among my pro-active pro-health steps. I also exercise (not often enough), I have NEVER smoked anything, I rarely drink alcohol, I have taken medications- but for short term acute severe situations.
Health is NOT just avoidance- ie; avoiding drugs, alcohol, smoking, fried foods, processed foods. Health is about PRO-active PRO-health steps.
Jack LaLanne- trained as a Doctor of Chiropractic in the 1930's, is now 95 years old and jumping around on television selling his juicer.
How did he get to 95 years old, jumping around with his lifelong wife- healthy and happy?????????????????
Jack LaLanne got there by DESIGN, not by 'luck'. Jack LaLanne is PROactive with PROhealth approaches. Doing 'controversial things' like juicing, vitamins, supplements, exercise, chiropractic, positive thinking, meditation, etc etc etc. Some 'experts' may pooh pooh his ideas, his lifestyle,,, I say the proof is in the pudding.
Will Jack live forever?- I wish he would, but no. Has he/ Will he live longer and healthier???-- well,,,,,,, obviously.
Lifestyle.
C.Everrett Koop, MD- former surgeon general of the USA stated that 60%- 70% of our illness and death (morbidity and mortality) is due to lifestyle CHOICES people make.
Among my CHOICEs is Chiropractic.
Do you NEED to go to a Doctor of Chiropractic? If you ask me, a Chiropractor, I would say yes. Do you have a subluxation?- I do not know until a Chiropractor evaluates you. Do you need an adjsutment?- I do not know until you are evaluated.
Do you NEED to see the Chiropractor?- if you ask yourself,,, only YOU can answer that question for yourself.
Do you NEED to practice good dental hygiene ??? well, that decision is yours. I know some people who brush their teeth 5 times a day, see the dentist every 3 months for cleanings, prevention and repair when needed. I know some people who never brush their teeth, never see the dentist--- their breath and smile proves it !!!!!!!!!
I have friends/ patients in their 50's, 60's, 70's who have practiced a PROactive PROhealth lifestyle- they are happy, healthy and active.
I have friends/ patients in their 30's, 40's, etc that engaged in 'sex, drugs, rock n roll, gambling, late hours'--- and they are unhealthy, sickly, and LOOK it and FEEL it. You know this,,, look at the people who live a healthy lifestyle vs the neighborhood kids that did drugs etc. Your friends who did drugs are dead or dying, the healthier group is still healthier !!!
Do you have to see a Doctor of Chiropractic-- If you are interested in the Vertebral Subluxation Complex and its effects upon health, yes. Do you have to see the DC if it is not a priority to you, no.
America is a great country--- make your own choices !!
As stated in our prior communications, I utilize many a printed handout in my Staten Island Chiropractic office; here are a few of them that try to explain my perspective.--- you may or may not agree.
I would say if your back or neck is hurting-- DEFINITELY see a DC. To evaluate most health complaints- you can see a DC. If you are interested in health and prevention of disease- see a DC.
IT ALL DEPENDS UPON YOUR PRIORITIES.
Here, my handout information:
Vertebral Subluxation -
- HOMEOSTASIS
"Homeostasis" is the ability of a system to maintain itself.
Every Biology or Chemistry student knows the term 慼omeostasis?
The human body, given no interference, with proper input, is a homeostatic system. The human body can maintain itself as a healthy organism given proper input, proper support. Place stress on the system, have improper input, and the system becomes less efficient, goes 憃ut of balance? and eventually breaks down.
揌omeostasis? starts in our tiny cells!- yes, our cells maintain homeostasis. Our cells make up our tissues- our tissues have a certain BALANCE- our tissues endeavor to maintain homeostasis. Tissues build into an Organ- a heart, lung, intestine; yes even our organs have a homeostatic balance. Finally, these organs build into a body- US, you, me! Our Body has a homeostatic balance. Out of balance = out of health.
Homeostasis- for our body to thrive, rather than just survive, needs proper input: proper rest, exercise, diet, vitamins, water, clean air, and efficiently running cells, tissues, organs, systems. Any improper input or inefficiency will reduce homeostasis, reduce efficiency and eventually lead to a breakdown of the entire system.
All of our cells, tissues, organs have particular 'enemies'. For instance our diet could cause heart disease or high blood pressure: eating a poor diet leads to an inefficiency which ultimately leads to a breakdown in the system (our body).
Our nervous system also has an 'enemy' to homeostasis and efficient performance: the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). Improve efficiency, improve health by combating VSC!
Build health, improve health, 'do the right thing'; i.e.; eat correctly, take supplements as needed, proper rest, exercise, and keep your body working at improved efficiency- i.e.; chiropractic to remove nerve interference.
Building Heath- a history:
What ? ! , I have to brush my teeth!?,,, after EVERY meal ! ? ,,,,, For the REST of my life ! ? ! ... I don抰 want to. period. I won抰. To heck with it ! If I get a hole (cavity), THEN I抣l take care of it. Maybe I won抰 get any cavities anyway?.
It took the American Dental Association YEARS to educate people that they should brush frequently to avoid dental disease. It has taken YEARS to educate patients that visits to the Dentist for hygiene, cleanings, flossing, coatings, etc. are necessary to PREVENT dental problems. Some people still do not floss after every meal, some do not even brush often enough (yyyuuukkkk), so some people still have severe dental problems despite all the knowledge about PREVENTION and dental health maintenance that is out there. Can you believe it ?? !!
Some people have the same problem with PREVENTATIVE Spinal Health
that used to exist with preventative dental health. Some people come to the Doctor of Chiropractic and say, ?..do not adjust me, just give me therapy...? some people say,
?..What ? ! , I have to practice SPINAL HYGIENE !?!, (practice proper postures, proper movement patterns, and see the Chiropractor periodically !?!), Naahh, ... I don抰
want to. period. I won抰. To heck with it! When I get PAIN, then I抣l take care of it.
( pain is often the LAST symptom to appear- whether a cavity or a heart attack ! )

ONLY a Doctor of Chiropractic evaluates for the Vertebral Subluxation Complex, as well as other pathologies.
Chiropractic corrects the Vertebral Subluxation Complex. Chiropractic helps restore HOMEOSTASIS to the body. Chiropractic helps restore homeostatic balance to your nervous system--- the MASTER Control system.
You cannot be 慼ealthy?if you have a Subluxation. You cannot be 慼ealthy?if you are out of balance. You MAY feel it, with a pain, stiffness, or a 慿ink?in your neck/ back. You may NOT even feel it-
just as people often do not feel the cavity growing in their tooth,,,, until it hits the nerve; or you may not feel it at all, like people do not feel high blood pressure or diabetes until AFTER damage has been done!! PREVENTION- Visit the Doctor of Chiropractic REGULARLY,,, just like your dentist! (practice spinal hygiene as you do dental hygiene) -PREVENTION!-
Build health, build balance, help your body maintain homeostasis! Practice good spinal hygiene, just as you practice god dental hygiene. Why so many treatment visits ?,
Why so many different therapies ??
Many people do not come to the Doctor of Chiropractic first.
Many people take an over the counter medication (OTC) (covers up the pain, does not treat the cause of the pain), see a medical doctor for a prescription medication (covers up the pain, does not treat the cause of the pain, stronger then OTC drugs, increased possibility of side effects and complications), or just wait and hope the pain goes away.
Then, after the pain continues, FINALLY they go to the Doctor of Chiropractic. Studies show that while Chiropractic is often the last Doctor people will go see, they expect immediate results- i.e.; a couple of weeks of treatments are expected to cure the problem. It is a paradox that people WAIT to go to the Doctor of Chiropractic, but expect immediate results, on conditions that have been building for months or years; yet when they go to a medical doctor- they accept invasive surgeries and/ or a long treatment protocol of physical therapy- weeks, often months.
Spinal pain, like many other conditions, often builds for years and years until the pain becomes strong enough to send someone for treatment. It is well known that heart conditions build for years and years, yet in 40% of cases, the first pain someone feels with their heart,,,, is the last pain someone feels with their heart (a fatal heart attack in 慳symptomatic?patients). Sad that they waited for pain to be a gauge of health. Pain is the LAST thing that comes in a problem, and often the FIRST symptom to go away. If there is a problem, isn抰 it better to treat BEFORE the pain, or if pain has started, isn抰 it better to take care of the problem, prevent future pain and progression of the condition?
Why so many treatment visits to start?, Well the problem, the condition, has momentum on it抯 side. Irritation, inflammation and damage has taken place and then the pain comes. Pain is the last thing that comes in the condition, and Pain is the first thing that disappears during treatment; but the underlying irritation, inflammation and damage has to be repaired. Initial treatment schedules, depending upon the severity of the complaint could be as often as twice per day, or once per day for two- three weeks, followed by a gradual reduction in treatment visits. This is similar to surgery! When a patient has an invasive surgery, often there is followup rehab treatment of daily, then every other day, then weekly visits for a prolonged period (i.e.; shoulders- up to a year of treatment AFTER invasive surgery).
Chiropractic works with your body. Chiropractic helps your body to heal itself. Chiropractic restores Homeostasis, balance in the body. Chiropractic corrects the Vertebral Subluxation Complex. You cannot be 慼ealthy?if you have a Subluxation. You MAY feel it, with a pain, stiffness, or a 慿ink?in your neck/ back. Chiropractic corrects this 憇ilent?condition, works WITH your body, and like other health approaches requires a certain treatment regimen and a period of TIME.

Athletic Performance Improvement, Accelerated Recovery
Chiropractic is well known to improve athletic performance, prevent sport injury, and accelerate recovery from injury or hard training.
With Doctors of Chiropractic serving on almost every nation抯 Olympic Team, with Chiropractic holding official status with the USOC and serving almost every US Olympic Athlete: the results of chiropractic cannot be denied.
Coaches and athletes are aware of terms such as
enhanced performance, performance improvement, accelerated recovery, restoration and regeneration.
Many coaching conferences discuss strategies on these aspects of exercise, competition, sports and athleticism.
An interesting study was performed and published way back in 1991. The January 1991 issue of the Journal of Chiropractic Research and Clinical Investigation published findings that demonstrate significant increases in athletic performance after a twelve week program of Chiropractic treatment.
Athletic Ability Research:
Male and female athletes between the ages of 18 and 42, representing a variety of sports backgrounds, were recruited to participate in this study. None had ever before been under chiropractic care. Each of these participants underwent eleven separate tests, each test designed to measure a specific aspect of athletic performance. Then, half the participants were evaluated through chiropractic analysis and placed on a twelve week program of chiropractic treatment ( consistent regimen of chiropractic, similar to a consistent regimen of physical athletic training/ exercise ). ( measured aspects: side step test, dodging run, right boomerang run, modified bass tests of dynamic balance, vertical power jump, standing broad jump, distance perception jump, horizontal linear space test, nelson hand reaction test, nelson speed of movement test, nelson choice of response-movement test )
All subjects continued to train and practice as usual in their sports. At the half-way point of six weeks, they were all reevaluated and changes in scores for each group were compared. All increases in performances by each group were measured by the average percent of change in all eleven tests combined.
The control group, those not receiving chiropractic care, showed slight improvement in eight of eleven tests ( this group had been training 慳s usual?for the time period ). By combining the average percentages of change on each test it was found that the control group showed an overall improvement of 4.5%.
Those receiving chiropractic treatment (along with their 憉sual training?, the test group, had dramatically different results. They showed improvement on all eleven tests for a total 10.7% average increase after six weeks. And when retested again after the second six week period of care this test group demonstrated a remarkable 16.7% average increase in athletic ability.
( consider that one/ onehundredth of a second ( 1/100th ) is the difference between win ?lose,,, 16.7% is HUGE )
What Do Chiropractors Do?
Chiropractors analyze the structure of the body, looking for misalignments, primarily in the spine, and also the extremities. Spinal misalignments, termed vertebral subluxations, irritate the nerves which in turn inhibits the body抯 ability to function optimally. Like a high performance automobile, the human structure must be balanced and in alignment to be at it抯 best. A Ferrari with pistons that don抰 fire in sequence, wheels that are out of balance or alignment, and high performance specifications that are improperly set will not only have it抯 performance compromised but will also have dramatically increased potential for parts to wear out and breakdown. The human body, far more delicate and complicated than even the most advanced automobile is similar. If the framework, particularly the spine, isn抰 properly aligned and balanced- the body cannot perform to it抯 potential and is more susceptible to illness and injury, with slower recovery when injury does occur.
What Do Vertebral Subluxations Do?
Vertebral subluxations cause nerve conduction interference. This inhibits millions of messages from the brain from flowing smoothly along the nerves and in this in turn interferes with the coordination of the actions of the body. The only health care provider trained to diagnose and correct vertebral subluxations is the Doctor of Chiropractic. Like a properly tuned Ferrari, the chiropractic patient athlete, when properly aligned, functions at a level of peak performance.
Famous Athletes Utilize Chiropractics.
Many athletes have discovered the relationship between proper spinal alignment and their own level of achievement. San Francisco Forty-Niner Greats Joe Montana and Roger Craig as well as heavy weight champion Evander Holyfield are examples of professional and world-class athletes who realize(d) the value of proper structural alignment and balance in their bodies. They have learned through their own experiences what research has shown; that through chiropractic care - one can demonstrate faster reaction time, better balance, improved coordination, increased muscular power; and when injured- accelerated recovery and regeneration.
The Competitive Edge.
Emphasis on athletic excellence continues to escalate in this country in terms of both dollars and extremes in personal sacrifice. Though the dangers of taking anabolic steroids have been widely publicized for years, the number of athletes who suffer serious health problems caused steroids continues to grow. Now, however, the athlete looking for the competitive edge need not look beyond the framework of his(her) own body. Increased public awareness is leading many to realize that a natural method is available in achieving performance enhancement. The method is Chiropractic!

In America we have a pain mentality. If we are not in pain, we do not seek care.
In ancient China, the town, the patients paid the Doctor when they were WELL !- what an incentive to keep people well.
In modern America, the town, the patients pay the doctor when they are sick,,,,,,,,,, is that a conflict of interest? Can you call that 'wellness care', can you call that prevention?
I am not advocating that Chiropractic can re-attach my severed hand, take me to Bellevue Emergency in Manhattan for that. Could Chiropractic help me heal AFTER the MD Surgeon re-attaches my hand?- I happen to think so.
I am not advocating that Chiropractic will STOP my heart attack clot, but will it help prevent that???- I happen to think so- as part of my PROactive PROhealth lifestyle. Will it help me after the fact?- yes I think so-- see 'homeostasis' above.
Chiropractic will help me function better- how do I know?- look at the athletic research.
Again do you NEED to see the Chiropractor??? only you can answer that.
Chiropractic, like medicine, like surgery; has it's proponents and opponents. Me, I like chiropractic- it is safe, effective, cost-effective, non-invasive, preventative and restorative.
I hope this helps explain my perspective, based upon my education and experience.
