QuestionI think I tore a tendon in my shoulder, which seems related to the anterior deltoid. I cannnot stretch my shoulder or when raising my arm straight up next to my head I cannot put weight or pressure on it or backwards without being in a lot of pain. It happened about 6 weeks ago and it seems slightly better. I've been icing it and taking a natural anti-inflammatory and MSM, and just started some homeopathics and am looking into essential oils. Clearly I am desperate to heal it so I can return to gymnastics at 100%. Can you suggest anything more I can be doing? Is there a way to heal this faster?
Thank you so very much for your time and your expertise!
AnswerHello Shannon,
You may need a MRI of the shoulder to make sure you did not completely tear the tendon, this will also help determine healing time and treatment, partial tear, etc.
You may want to see a Doctor of Chiropractic who specializes in sports/soft tissue injuries, after a exam they will be able to determine if you do need a MRI and soft tissue treatment that will greatly increase your healing time!
Have a great day,
