QuestionHi,
I'm writing on behalf of my mother. I said that her problems MAY be back related. This is the situation, My mother is 57, she works at a computer all day, doesn't really exercise much, is of average weight and has sound cholesterol levels. She has had a right knee reconstruction which has caused her to walk with a slight limp and a twist in her walk, subsequently it has affected her hip and caused her to have alot of pain. She has recieved a steroid injection for that. That's the general backround now the current problems/symptoms.
She has terrible dizziness and numbness/tingling in her fingers. she cannot walk and put on a jumper a the same time without almost falling over from being disorientated. There is no back pain. the doctor she is currently seeing thought it mightbe a vitamin b12 problem, but since recieving the injections for the past 3 months, there has been no improvement. the doctor is now sending her to a ear, nose and throat clinic, but my mother is sure it's nothing to do with that.
I suggested that it may be back related due to the numbness and tingling in the fingers, but not sure about the dizziness and balance problems.
can you advise me as to what you think, and if it might be worth consulting a chiropractor?
Thankyou
AnswerIt is quite possible to have a neck problem leading to dizziness and also to the numbness and tingling. I would suggest that you have her checked by a good chiropractor. They should be able to assess and treat it, as well as the back problems, set her up in a good rehab program., and if necessary, refer her to the proper specialist.
