QuestionI was recently made redundant and so have been spending quite a large amount of time infront of my computer. And large portions of this time is spent looking side on with my body slightly twisted. Very often when i face forwards again i can feel a discomfort in my upper back, and on turning fully the opposite way i get a 'clicking' noise come from my sternum area. I was wondering if this was purely down to prolonged twisting of my torso or something else. I have always suffered with a very temperamental back, although not so much in the last few years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.
AnswerThe prolonged twisted position while seated is probably putting pressure on the ribcage, leading to the discomfort you describe. Modification of the workstation would be a first start; and evaluation by a chiropractor to correct any underlying structural problems would be the next. they should also couple treatment to a rehab program for strengthening
