QuestionI jogged 25 minutes with no shoes on. The next day my feet are tingling and itchy. What is wrong?
AnswerHi Jess. Unfortunately itchiness and tingling are not symptoms specific to one condition. The most common skin condition involving the feet is called "athletes foot". It is a fungal infection which causes irritation to the skin. It may also be associated with scaling and flaking of the skin. Athletes foot is an easy condition to treat. I would advised you to visit your family doctor. There are many over the counter and prescribed creams that will clear your skin in just a couple of weeks. I would also recommend that you do not continue to run long distances without the appropriate foot wear. Running without proper support can lead to more than just foot pain. It can lead to knee, hip or back pain. I hope this helps.
