Question
Hello Dr Gillman,

I am 32 years old and for the past 2 years I have been suffering severe backaches have also noticed recently when walking my right leg falls short. It is more noticeable when I wear high heels. Due to this my posture has been affected when sitting or standing, I stand slant towards my left side. On waking up I am in a slant position. This has happened after I had a dislocated hip bone(right side). Is there any treatment option currently available for my condition? please guide. I would like to start treatment soon, before it becomes worse.

Answer
Dear Katrina,

It is hard to know what is going on with you based on the small amount of information you provided.   However, I can tell you that the leaning of your torso to one side is typical when you have an irritated disc herniation or protrusion in your lumbar spine.  You trunk will lean away from the irritation.  No calf/leg/foot pain or numb-tingling is a good sign.  Previous hip dislocation?  That can set you up for issues later one, including the uneven leg length feeling and the torse leaning.   The bottom line is that you need to find a really good chiropractor to do a soup-to-nuts assessment.   See if you can cross-reference docs from these sites:   www.westhartfordgroup.com   www.grastontechnique.com   www.acbsp.com

'Hope this was helpful.
