QuestionHi Doctor,
I am having moderate (severe at times)pain in my left arm radiating from the top of my shoulder all the way down into my wrist. I had carpal tunnel surgery in 2005 but these are very different symptoms. I was also involved in an MVA back in Oct 09 but there were no major injuries. My left arm was jolted quite a bit but that was three months ago. This pain has intensified rapidly over the last month and a half. It has now become uncomfortable to sleep at all on my left side. I had x-rays done after the accident but there were no immediate issues. Could all of this pain be from that accident or could something else be going on? I have also now developed alot of neck and shoulder pain and flu like symptoms..which is making me very nervous that something more could be going on.
Thank you for your time.
Rebecca
Answerit sounds separate from carpal tunnel syndrome. Im sure you have a disc herniation or bulged disc in your neck causing radiculitis (pinched nerve). you should have had an mri after the car accident, and you should get an attorney. Symptoms from a MVA can surface a month or even 2 later.
on a good note: many of my patients have this problem and chiropractic is hands down the best thing for you if that's what the diagnosis is. Go see a chiropractor and get yourself an mri and some chiropractic care and you will get through this just fine. also, for the Carpal tunnel there is some new technology that could have prevented your wrist surgery called cold laser. there is a wealth of cold laser info on my site.
good luck!
