Hi, i have been diagnosed with the above condition. i have had it for nearly six months now. i have been told i will have surgery hopefully in the next 4 months. i am worried that i will have less movement in my hand as the hand has been getting gradually worse, with it now going into to cramps. also had an xray today and sharp shooting pains in my thumb together with involuntary twitches. could you please put my mind at rest, should i get it done sooner than this? the consultant said that my fingers could curl inwards to the palm if i do not have the op. many thanks Isabel

Unless you have suffered a debilitating injury to your elbow, wrist, or hand, this is most likely caused from a problem in your neck.  We know this with certainty because we have had tremendous success in helping ALL patients up to this point that we have seen with this diagnosis that were recommended for surgery. Many people have surgery for this problem only to learn the hard way, that it did not correct the cause of the problem.
We never recommend speeding up a surgery for this situation unless there is no doubt that this is indeed the cause, which is only after ruling out an upper cervical injury or subluxation.
