Question
Hi
I am a 51 year old guy.
I have always had a very pronounced abdomen, possibly from years of not getting enough physical activity as a long haul truck driver. I also have I.B.S. with bloating.
The belly is not so much fat it just sticks way out.
My lower back is still OK but is starting to act up a bit these days.
In addition to cleaning up my diet, doing exercises for my core and stretching,I have started going for long walks progressing to jogging.
If I wore one of these belts, would it improve my posture even after I have finished? I try to suck it in and be erect but its hard-I am thinking a belt would help.Could it also possibly improve my digestion issues?
I dont mean one of those belts you see on TV for 'melting fat' I mean something like this:

Thanks!

Answer
hi bud,
IBS is an entirely different problem that you need to get under control with diet and some nutrition therapy you can overcome it. Check out a link on my site.

you said you were a long distance truck driver for many years. This explains a lot of your problems. So, in order to hold good posture or be able to tuck your pelvis back (as we would call sucking your gut or belly in)you should only wear it temporarily while you run/walk only. You need to build you core muscles more, strengthen abs and stretch your hip flexors and quads (the FRONTS of you legs)the stretching is very very important. spend a half hour a day at least, everyday you must stretch the front of your legs.
you should see a nutritionist for your ibs and a chiropractor if you have any discomfort or tightness in your back. chiropractic care will also help you posture immensely.
