QuestionHi,
I am a 23 year old female. A few days ago when I came home from work I noticed my wrist was hurting pretty bad when i tried to turn it or put pressure on it but it wasn't swollen or anything. So I woke up the next morning and it was hurting more and it was hard to do anything. I noticed that it was hurting really bad on and around the ulnar styloid. When i would press around or on that area it would hurt. So now its been about 3 days and last night the pain went away from that area and my arm started hurting a little and i noticed my veins were more visible. My ulnar styloid looked swollen too. Now today I woke up and it hurts around the ulnar styloid again when I try to turn it but theres weird kinda numb aching pain in my arm too. I didn't know if this might be dangerous or not?
Answerhello, do you ride a bicycle or put a lot of stress on your wrist on a daily basis? if so, you should lay off it for awhile. you can ice it or take an anti inflammatory to reduce inflammation. if it persists for over 2 weeks then you may want to see an ortho or a chiro. It's probably a little misalignment of the ulnar bone or possibly one of the smaller bones in your wrist.
I'm sure its not too serious, being that you didn't have any trauma.
so , rest , ice , ibuprofen or advil for a week to 2 weeks. good luck!!
