QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I've had back pain since '03 due to the fall and hurt myself on the blow up jumping and going through obstacles..... and few months before june, I've had mri... shows I have mild levoconvex scoliosis- they don't know what is causing the pain and let me go. Recently, I had a car accident, my back and neck pain is worse and been having headaches everyday, migraine every other day or whenever.... had mri again, it came back negative.... im soo miserable about the pain.. Also, I feel the tingling feeling on my feet- feels like ants crawling on my feet... sharp pin needle feeling.... sometimes I can't move to the point I froze cuz of the pain.... I have 6 mos old son and its hard for me.. Could it be compressed nerve or nerve disorder? By the way im 21. Im young to have this kind of pain??
ANSWER: AmberLee,
First and foremost it is excellent that your MRIs are negative! That means you have no pathology, no herniated discs and no bone disease!! Thats good!
Now that alone tells me it is safe to get a chiropractic examination and it would be safe for you to get a chiropractic adjustment.
The latest research shows that disc tissue (herniated or not) is pain sensitive, the facets are pain sensitive (joints of your spine), the joint capsules are pain sensitive ( the bag like covering to your facets),the dura Mater is pain sensitive ( the protective coating of your spinal cord and spinal nerves) and finally the spinous ligaments in the back of your spine are all pain sensitive. ANYTHING THAT IS PAIN SENSITIVE HAS PAIN NERVE FIBERS INNERVATING THEM AND ALL OF THEM CAN CREATE PAIN!!!! YOU HAVE SCOLIOSIS... ALL OF THOSE STRUCTURES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN STRESSED FOR YOUR ENTIRE 21 YEARS AND THEN YOU HAVE TWO TRAUMATIC EVENTS!!! I definitely opine you are a candidate for chiropractic examination and treatment if the examining doctor of chiropractic can formulate a treatment plan for you.
It is my opinion that all of your symptoms are comming from your spine and or the tissues and structures mentioned above!!! Your age is definitely something you have on your side.
Please find a competent chiropractor in your area take all your records and MRI reports and actual mri films with you to your appointment.
Please print this out and take with you to the appointment to refer to or just give it to the chiropractor to read.
Hey, when you are improved contact me and let me know how you are doing and also remember I am stating that I think you are a candidate for chiropractic care but am not implying a cure!!
Hope this helps on your health decisions!!

QUESTION: Thanks for replying back..... I also have something to add onto the comment from above. The pain from my lower back shoots down to my legs.. At night have hard time to sleep or whatnot.... during the day its pretty much dragging for me.. Should I go to nuerologist?
AnswerI would never tell you not to go to a Neurologist. Basically he will run a gambit of tests that confirm nerves interference. This information is always crucial for making healthcare decisions. However the neurologist will either refer you to a PT or prescribed nerve pain medication. If that is the course you would take it is considered the pertinent thing to do. However I feel and opine that you should start with a Chiropractor first. Ask around and find out who has the best reputation and follow through.
I think you will eventually end up at the chiropractors office...save some time and go their first.
Sincerely,
