Question
I was diagnosed with CTS in both hands; had surgery on both.
My left hand is still weak with heat/pain/swelling at the wrist (top area) and pain along the nerve that travels along the top of the forearm. There is also pain in the left
thumb. What is this? Also, how long does it take for carpal
tunnel to develop? My hands were perfect until I became a car detailer. Many thanks for any help.

Answer
Carpal tunnel syndrome can come on quick or slow, depending how your body responds to the repetitive motion.  How long ago was your surgery.  If the surgery is successful, 4-6 weeks usually has someone feeling fairly close to normal.  However, if it was not true carpal tunnel syndrome, and was labeled CTS, the surgery might not be as effective./
