QuestionAbout a year ago, I had a mountain biking accident in which I fell on my head while still clipped into my bike. The helmet cracked in 5 places but saved me. after the fall I saw a doctor who checked me out and x-rayed me. after looking at the x-rays and having me lean my head toward my shoulder he sent me home with a script for some anti-inflammatory drug.
I continued to have pain in my neck and shoulder for weeks afterward.
After 3 months or so I felt okay again. No pain in the neck and I regained my range of motion.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, I flew across the country on business and instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed at a friend's house... on his air mattress.
When I woke up in the morning, my neck and left shoulder (under the blade) hurt like they did after my bike accident. Actually, maybe a little worse. At first I chalked it up to sleeping funny on that mattress, but now it is still going on and for the last two days my left index finger has been going numb.
Oh yeah, when I got home from my trip I started getting spasms in my left bicep, tricep and pec, but those only lasted for about 3-4 days. It feels like that may be coming back too.
Can a chiropractor fix this for me? If so, who is a good one in the Marina del Rey/ Venice area?
Answerhi, yes you have a pinched nerve and i am sure it's from that accident. you got better because the body adapts to pain on its own. you may have a herniated disc and you should definitely consult a chiropractor. it sounds like you have a few pinched nerves.
if you have trouble finding someone in your area write me back and i will try to find someone for you.
