QuestionQUESTION: Hi, I was sledding with a child I nanny four days ago and when the sled hit the fence the motion propelled me forward and the top of my forhead hit the fence, now my back has been bugging me, up between my shoulder blades especially, sometimes a slightly tingly feeling, not in my arms though, and it also cracks when I move after resting which it didn't do before. Do you know what this is? Are there things I can do at home to help it go away?
ANSWER: Seek professional evaluation with a local well known chiropractor. You have injured your neck and upper back, I don't like the "tingling" symptoms. You could have injured a disc in your neck, causing compression of the nerves or spinal cord.

QUESTION: I do not have much money, is this a serious thing? The thing that is bugging me the most is the cracking when I lay down and breathe is cracks or move around. I am not in any extreme pain, just discomfort. are the other symptoms if I did injure a disc? I really can't afford to go in unless it is absolutely necessary
AnswerIf symptoms persist over the next few weeks, get it looked at. The spine was strained and stiffened up, the popping is the joints unlocking as the condition improves. The popping is nothing to fear. Like I said, a reputable chiropractor can check out and get you a few treatments and send you on your way, even if the disc was injured. An MRI is the best test but can be costly.
