QuestionQUESTION: Hi thanks for responding so fast. I just reposted because I dont see a reply button:
My chiropractor told me he could fix my hiatal hernia. After two sessions I am positive he somehow seriously messed up my stomach. It is out of place and loose. I can barely bendover and I can feel my stomach bounce around when I hit a bump in the car. Also when I was cleaning the sink I could feel it all bouncing around. After watching numerous videos on fixing hiatal hernias I am positive he moved my stomach out of place. I would take a deep breath and he would push down on my stomach and then I'd exhale....
Is it possible to dislocate the stomach and have it move out of place? what do i do now? Who can I see that could put it back in place?
ANSWER: Kevin,
You would first have to evaluate what really is going on. You need to schedule a visit with a gastroenterologist and have an "upper GI" evaluation that would literally show what you have going on. What if your stomach is okay and nothing at all is out of place? Then you have sympsoms coming from something else. There is no proof that manual methods will rearrange the location of your stomach or change the position of a hiatal hernia. Therefore, you cannot be certain that this is what is going on even if you think it is.
Let me know if you need more info...

QUESTION: I was fine and could do everything before the chiropractor tried to fix my hiatal hernia. I am in good shape. I was at the gym the day before. After he was done I could not bend over. He told me it could all be tender and to stay ergonomically correct for the next couple of days. Its been 3 weeks and I still cant bend over and can barely get in and out of the car. He has since told me he has only done this procedure on himself and says "thats how we learned to do it." There is no doubt it is out of place, if it isnt then he pushed everything else out of place in my abdomin.
AnswerKevin,
I understand. You have a problem that is associated with whatever procedure the chiropractor performed. What I am trying to get across to you is that the pain may not have anything to do with your stomach. It might be that your rib got dislocated, or your abdominal muscles got torn, or something else happened, but that it has nothing to do with a hiatal hernia. Somebody else has to evaluate it and decided if you need imaging to diagnosis it. Otherwise, you're just speculating on the cause of your pain.
