QuestionI had a skateboarding accident about two and a half days ago. I fell off pretty hard and landed on my head and also grazed the base of my buttocks and maybe my spine near the tailbone. I was unconscious for roughly 2 minutes and had some emergency services come to the scene. They assessed me and allowed me to go back to my motel for the night.
The next morning I awoke and went to the emergency room as i had a bled a fair bit through the night and my hearing in my left ear has been a bit dull and kind of vibrates when some letters are said by people. I saw a doctor at the ER and she stapled my head and checked my ears but did not think that there was anything too wrong although she did want me to get a CT scan. I don't have travel insurance so i declined.
Today two and a half days later I cannot get to sleep properly as i have this pressure behind my eyes that gets really painful when I try to sleep on any side of my body. My neck mostly on my left side but to a lesser degree on my right side is pretty tight and a little stiff. I have a constant ringing and dullness still in my left ear.
I just want to hear your thoughts on the matter and if you can recommend any way that I might be able to do your recommendations as cheap as possible because I am travelling and don't have travel insurance at the moment.
Kind regards
Rhoan
AnswerRhoan,
You immediately need to have a CT Scan or at least an MRI of your skull and brain for several reasons. This could actually be life threatening. You need these tests immediately.
