Question
I was seeing a chiropractor for a left leg injury. While I was seeing this chiropractor I was giving a left leg adjustment and a pelvic adjustment with his fingers spreaded apart touching my private area I had a lay on my back. Do you have to get a pelvic adjustment for a left leg injury around the calf area? If so can you be on your stomach so you don't have to get your private area touch?

Answer
HI Sarah,

There are lots of ways to adjust the pelvis, including being on your side or on your belly.   On your back, there are some points of contact that are on the pelvic bones, and in some cases on the front side of your hip joint.  While these points of contact on the pelvis are in the region of your "private parts" or vaginal zone, there is absolutely no reason for the doctor to touch the vaginal zone with the adjustment.    The pelvic contacts can include the pubic bone.  This contact point is adjacent to the vaginal zone and it is imperative that the doctor explain thoroughly as to why he/she must contact that particular bone for adjustment.   He/she must get your consent to do it.   There is no reason whatsoever for him to contact your pubic bone for a leg problem, and there is no reason for him to touch your vaginal area if he appropriately contacts other places on your pelvis.    If he did touch your vagina like you described, then you must contact your state licensing board, or state's board of chiropractic licensing (it's called different things in different states) and file a complaint.  If he is touching your vaginal area then that is a violation and he likely is doing it to other patients.    You have to file a complaint if this is happening.  It's your civic duty and you must do this for yourself.

'Hope this was helpful.
