QuestionHi I have been suffering from ear ache pain for the last 4 months on my left side . I was just seen by an ENT specialist and he told me that my ears were fine and suspects that it is my neck causing the problems.
I have degenerative disc throughout my back and cervical spine I had a t-1 to c-7 fusion about 4 years ago, Since then I have seen a neroulogist and did a nerve conduction study that show c-6 is giving me problems yet my neuro surgeon says he can't see it on MRI or x-ray so I will have to live with it that was about 2 years ago.
I am currently taking Gabapentine 800mg 4 time daily plus Hydrocodone 10/325mg 4 times daily . the gabapentine is to help relieve the nerve pain and the hydrocodone is for helping with the pain of my RA.
I also suffer from Migraines and cluster headachs.
Does this mean that I will now have to live with my stabbing earache for good or are there any alternatives.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
AnswerMy suggestion to you is to seek out a occipital or upper shoulder massage therapist. Start at 3x a week for 2 weeks and then 2 x a week for about 4 weeks and 1x a week fr 6 weeks. Or the same schedule of frequency with a chiropractor who does myofascial work (lossening muscle spasms up) it sounds like you have tension migraines and it's now causing ear pain.
