QuestionI recently had my spinal cord stimulator replaced and when they replaced the battery they moved it from my right side at my waist to my lower left back above my buttocks 2/2/2012. I noticed after the surgery I started having spasms in my lower back and buttocks area below the battery but thought it was from the new battery and thought it would go away.
Three weeks ago, I was walking down our stairs and got a spasm and I lost control of my right leg and fell down 6 -8 stairs I grabbed the railing to control my fall and hit hard on my buttocks. I had a horrible bruise covering my whole right buttocks area and it is finally starting to fade.
Since the fall I have had horrific spasms from my right buttocks, to hip, groin when bending, walking or putting too much weight on my right leg. At times it is so bad I scream when at work, etc. It is horrible, I have never experienced pain like this. I have throbbing pain down entire right leg to foot. When the spasm or "gripping" pain hits it is so bad I can not function and it takes my breath away. What can be causing this?
AnswerJamie,
There is just not enough information to answer this question. I would have to know your entire health history and why you have a stimulator implanted. I highly suggest you go to your pain management doc and get a new examination with xray and mri of the lumbar spine.
Quite possibly if you did this and sent me the results I could help you with your questions but you need to seek immediate medical attention. If you do not like or agree with what your pain management doctor says then you need to seek a full examination with another pain management specialist or a chiropractor.
Sincerely
