QuestionHi doctor I m a very healthy fifteen year old female. I do track and field. Just today I have notice my back was in so much pain and I could feel my back tightening somehow. Also to give details I have knees injuries last year and this year my right knee now have lateral patella syndrome and I have been to PT for nearly three month now for both my knees and shoulder rehab since I can't move my arm around that much yet and my shoulder was tightening alot so my Physio told me to do my shoulder exercises including my back to because it was so tense up. Now I can't get to bed my back is painful so much and it's making my shoulder feel worst. My question is what can I do to stop the pain I really need to have a good night sleep and what shoulder I do at home or should I go to a specialist? Since I want to get back to my sport
AnswerJenny,
You need a specialist. Find a good sports chiropractor. I know there is a chiropractic school at Murdoch (I don't know where you are in Australia) and you can call or email them and ask for a referral to someone in your area. There are other sources to locate a good provider, including: http://www.fics-online.org/portal/ You likely need skilled soft tissue therapy (See: www.faktr.com and www.grastontechnique.com) and joint manipulation (best done by chiropractors) and also a good examination (best done by sports chiropractors). I hope this was helpful.
