QuestionGood evening Sir,
I'm hoping you can help me place my issue. This could be lengthy, I apologize in advance.
Firstly, I am a healthy 27 yr old female with good general health. Good BP, good blood levels, slightly overweight, full heart work up. Bad car accident in 2007. Constant lower back pain, and upper back pain exacerbated by position and activity. I do have a history of ear issues in my left ear, in 2011 I had to go to the doctor due to vertigo. It was found that my left ear, according to the doc was "like bloody ground beef" it was so damaged. Was Rx'd meclyzine.
I have a sudden issue, that I think may be related to my pillow (contoured memory foam). I got up from a nap today due to pain i was feeling in my neck. About 2 or 3 hours passed and I was walking across my kitchen when I suddenly felt very lightheaded/dizzy. Needless to say this has made me very scared, I hate that feeling. I'm still lightly dizzy it's constant and seems to get worse when I move. I had a little pain in the back right side of my neck that had a crackling/grinding sound when I moved my neck trying to stretch it. I'm now sitting upright with my head rested on the head rest of my couch and I'm having a constant dull pain along the center to upper sides of the back of my neck down into my upper back in between the shoulder blades.
I'm also experiencing a headache, general feeling of malaise, and some nausea.
This issue is intermittent and common for me, although not usually as bothersome.
Is this a nerve issue or something out of place in my neck? What could be contributing to the chronic pain, stiffness, dizziness, etc?
AnswerAshley,
Actually the symptoms you are describing are more common than you would think. The type of trauma you suffered and have never had fixed is probably from the auto accident you suffered. More than likely you have suffered with subluxations of the neck and upper back, a closed head injury as well as trouble with your inner ear. It appears that you may have DE-sensitized to your anti dizziness medication because that is a natural human response.
I highly suggest you get to a chiropractor who practice brain based therapy or chiropractic neurology.Get a complete exam and see if you are a chiropractic candidate, which by the way from your history it appears that you are.
