QuestionMy clinical view: Strong pain in the right leg only during some activities (bending or sitting for long time)
The finding of my MRI was as follows:
Right posterilateral disc protrusion at the L5/S1 disc level with moderate compression of the right descending S1 nerve root.
I am 2 months after the origin of the problem and i am following the conservative method of treatment with laser and electrotherapy and mild exercises (walking is not a problem)
My question is how long it takes for a disc like this to be healed? Any tips?
AnswerIf you are only doing laser, electrostim and exercises it will take a long time.
The problem is a pinched nerve due to a disc protrusion and most likely a spinal misalignment which may have caused the protrusion in the first place. You need to remove pressure off the sciatic nerve. There is only one profession that does this, Chiropractic. I have had some cases that require surgery and others that heal up in a few weeks. everyone is different and their bodies heal at a different pace.
ps- make sure the chiropractor you are using releases your psoas muscle. it can only be released from the front near your abdomen and belly button.
good luck!
