Questionhello,
in October I twisted or did something weird to my back and in my pelvis there was a painless snapping sensation.
within a few hours of the snapping came the worst pain I've ever felt ... it was worse than when I tore my meniscus.
The pain is only on my right side. It's in my right hip and my right pelvis area and if I move in a certain way I get a numbness in my leg.
I went to the doctor the next day, she diagnosed me with acute lumbago, gave me some ibuprofen and sent me home.
Fast forward to now, I still have this pain. I can go days with no pain at all and then like last night and today, the pain comes and it hurts so awful it makes me puke and I can't move, I can't sit, I can't lay down, nowhere is comfortable. I can't sleep.
Should I go to a chiropractor? Someone scared me and told me a chiropractor could make it worse or could pop my back and paralyze me. but also I don't have any health insurance, would a chiropractor see me if I don't have insurance??
do you have any recommendations?
AnswerDesirai,
You could have a hernited disc where the herniation fragments off and periodically gets stuck in the canal, causeing sudden pain, often in the back and into the butt, thigh, or down the leg. You also could have a hip cartilage tear or cartilage fragment that gets jammed in the joint periodically. "Lumbago" simply means back pain. It's not a diagnosis. "Acute" simply means that it happened within the past four weeks. Chiropractic is among the safest form of healthcare around. Find a good one and get checked out.
