Lump in the back of my neck

Question
For a few weeks, maybe longer, I have had a lump about the size of raisin on the right side of the back of my neck, up high near my head. The past week it has started bothering me, and when the pain is at it's worst, it radiates up my head, and down into my shoulder. It doesn't seem to be changing in size, but the pain is definitely getting worse. I can't imagine what is causing it, and infection, a pinched nerve, a tumor, no clue.
I am seeing the doctor tomorrow, but I'm wondering, are the symptoms I've given you indicative of anything muscular that could be treated with chiropractic? I should add that I have a stress repetitive job (receptionist), I have scholiosis, and a history of problems with my neck, spasms, etc.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for writing!

From your description, this sounds like a defensive reaction of the body. It occurs in a nerve right where the end of the muscle tie into the bone. It can change, with what you or what you are doing.

This does not mean a disease or an illness, just that the body is defending itself. Only if the defense of  the body fails does one have a disease.

I would suggest getting to a good chiropractor in your area and get it checked out. Drugs will only make it worse.

If you want a referral, let me know.
