QuestionHiya
I wrote a couple of weeks ago asking for any recommendations you might have concerning heat treatment for my daughter's back pain while she waits six months or so for her operation.
You replied asking for her age, 31, and what sort of pain it was and I replied saying it was the lower portion of the back, going down her left(I think) leg. I've reformated my hard drive since all this happened so I can't resend the information, but you should still have it.
Since when I've heard nothing.

Thank you!
I have not received your reply to my inquiry until just now.
Heat would make your daughter worse unless you followed it with ice and even that is touchy. If her low back still feels warmer than only Ice should be used.
There is an back exercie book available on Barnes and Noble and other book store that would help her. It is by a Dr. Batmanhava(Not the exact spelling) and involves laying face down on some pillows and drinking a ton of water. That would help her.
Also, try this. With your daughter standing, have her move the leg that is hurting straight out away from her body. This is done with the knee straight. As the leg is in the position away from the body, have her turn her foot so the toes are also pointing away from the body. This is a Step Out-- Turn out.
This may cause such severve pain she drops on the floor, so it perhaps should be done laying on her back. But this could also reduce the pain. It will not make the situation worse, in any case.
At her age, she should try an alternative to the surgery. I would suggest you go to http://www.sorsi.com and or http://www.icak-us.com and look for a good chiropractor near her. Two or three visits should show whether or not it is going to help her.
Let me know how it goes.
