Would like to find some answers to all of this
explained so that I may understand. I had an MRI of the Lumbar Spine. My report findings, conclusion states Multilevel degenerative disease. There are no levels of central spinal stenosis identified. Borderling foraminal narrowing is shown at L4-5 on the left and at L5-S1 on the right. I have no hernination . What is the treatment for this type of condition? I am trying to find out as much information about my condition as I possibly can...Is this something that will resolve on its own? or will it get worse? I truly hope you can help me with these questions... I also have right, and left hip and leg pain associated with this..
Thank you for your reply with this matter...

Thanks for writing!
This says that most if not all of the bones in your lower back bone are starting to break down. The bones are getting squishy or changing shape. This is not osteoporosis (thining of the bone). It is an actual change in the shape of the bone.
This had not yet gotten so bad as to push on your spinal cord. It may be touching the nerves coming off of your spinal cord and probably is, since you are having hip and leg pain.
This is always associated with indigestion and stomach and bowel malfunction. You may or may not be aware of symptoms in this area. The antiacids will make it much worse in the long run.
This is not really a skeletal problem. It is the bones of the spine breaking down because the rest of the body is not working. The bones are not being fed the proper food to stay healthy.
I suggest you go to www.sorsi.com, www.icak.com or www.soto-usa.com and look for a good chiropractor near you. They can investigate and get to the root of the problem and get you on the right path to rebuild it. Nutrition and digestion support and water intake are vital, as is exercise.

Dr. Rozeboom,
Thank you for replying... I do have another question if you please. I have seen an MD which is into pain management she has given me Nurontin 300 mg, now 800 mg, she reccomends that she do injections, as she indicated they would be close to my spine... I do not know if I need to do this or not, she is the one that ordered the MRI to see what was going on... I am in pain, confused do not know which way to turn. If you need more info. I can e-mail the rest of the report, but the info. I sent to you was the findings read by the radiologist... Please help me with this I am very worried about all of this..
Thank you again for your time and patience.
Debra

You are welcome!
What is nurontin supposed to do for you? Does it numb the nerves? Is it a steriod?.
If it were my spine, I would try all alternatives first. The first thing to do is to increase your water intake. And get a digestive aid, from a health food store, if nothing else.
There is a great book out there by Dr. Batmanhelidj, on joint and back pain. It contains specific exercises which will help a great deal. Get a copy of that right away and see if that gives you some pain relief.
