Trapped nerve?

Question
Good day, I would like to ask for information on tratment for a trapped nerve or so I think. I recently fell from a horse and jarred my left shoulder. For a couple of days I was ok, no pain or tingleing. About a week later I started to get a tingleing in the top of my left shoulder towards the spine. I then started to get pins and needles and loss of movement in certain places I placed my arm.It seems to be getting worse and more frequent. I have been to a physio and been given exercises and had massage, acupuncture and some deep manipulation over the last 5 months. I am now at a loss to which way forward I should go. Could you help at all please. Thank you. Cheryl

Answer
Without a proper exam, I am just speculating.  First, were they xrays or MRI taken to determine nerve damage or involvement?  I say that because of the "loss of use" in certain areas of the arm, that makes me think nerve damage.  Also I would suggest a chiropractor, if you haven't already explored that avenue.  These symptoms could also be coming from the neck, since that is where all nerves originate.  Even though you don't say anything about striking your neck, a fall from a horse can cause a whiplash-like injury, tightening up muscles in the neck and shoulder and cause these symptoms.  If you don't see a chiropractor, I suggest going to www.sorsi.com to find a doctor near you.  I am a member of this group and would trust any of these doctors with my own family.  At least look one up and talk to them to see what they suggest.  If you are Minnesota near the Twin Cities, or is you have any other questions or concerns, please email me.
