QuestionI delivered 1 child in '05 naturally with pitocin & 1 child in '06 with epidural. After delivering my 1st child I felt like a million bucks. BUT after my 2nd child this past June, natural with epidural, my midback, hips, sides, knees, legs & feet constantly hurt. it has been 6 mos & the pain has not let up. I did have treatment 5 mos ago for sciatic nerve & hip flexor which helped.
What can I do to correct this?
AnswerMy question is what kind of "treatment" did you have for the sciatic nerve and hip flexor. I'm a little biased, but I strongly suggest chiropractic to help with your situation. The epidural could have caused these problems because of the effects the meds have. You were unable to feel everything that happened, and you could have stretched or tore a muscle, caused some nerve irritation (sciatic) and other problems. You could have also "subluxed" a vertebrae during the delivery causing the symptoms you are experiencing. If you are unaware, a subluxation is a chiropractic term for a misalignment of a joint, in this case your spine. I would get an evaluation to see if this is the case. If you don't see a chiropractor and are interested, go to www.sorsi.com to find a doctor near you. I am a member of this group and trust all the members with my own family.
